Multi Agency Volunteer Training

Once again, the Hill Country Crisis Council along with Hill Country CASA, Hill Country Family Outreach, Kids' Advocacy Place, and K'Star provided some 30 hours of training on the issues and techniques of working with the clients dealing with those issues. The joint training was presented on each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, January 28 through February 13, 2003, with some 35 citizens of Kerr, Bandera, Gillespie, and Kendall counties in attendance.

These training sessions are made available to the general public for the purpose of recruiting volunteers in the most cost-effective way. It is also an excellent forum to make the community aware of the services our agencies provide throughout the Hill Country. The third benefit derived affords refresher courses for employees of the agencies as well as the dedicated people who have been volunteering for several years.

HCCC's in-house training which normally follows two weeks after the joint sessions has been delayed this year in order to have the HCCC Volunteer Program Coordinator position filled.
